Supporting Pupils with Special Educational Needs & Disabilities
Henley in Arden Church of England Primary School has a strong commitment to supporting all children. For those that have Special Educational Needs & Disabilities (SEND) this can often mean greater engagement with parents/carers and/or outside agencies. Specific needs are identified at school entry or as soon as these arise and all relevant Staff are informed of these needs.
The views of the children are valued and seen as a vital part of the decision making process.
The school actively seeks to work with parents/carers and values the contributions they make.
Dyslexia Friendly Books
There are some children that find reading hard and some that find reading an additional challenge because they have dyslexia. Books can be bought with specific reading ages to encourage your child to continue to enjoy reading, even when it is extremely challenging. Here is a link to some very useful books for these children.
Mrs Mary Gray is the schools Special Education Needs & Disabilities Coordinator and can be contacted via the school office on 01564 792766
All teachers in the school are responsible for the needs of individual students.
